I am Susie Romei-Bown, a wife and a mother of two beautiful Anglo-Uruguayan kids, horse lover, former Equine Science technician, dressage & show jumper from Cheshire that quit my life long passion due to a horse riding back injury in the early 2000's.
Like all of us, life took me through an exciting journey of self discovery and after becoming British Airways Cabin crew manager and travelling to many world destinations I met my husband and ended up living for 8 years in Uruguay, South America. Being far away from England and having to raise my first child in a foreign country was very tough. Not knowing the language I put myself to the test and one of the things that helped me cope with that stress and my back injury was discovering Yoga.
In 2014 life brought us back to the UK and I decided to follow my passion for this ancient discipline. I trained to become a Yoga teacher in order to give something back to this wonderful art that helped me and guided me previously.
I am now a fully qualified Yoga teacher in Poynton with the YMCA Awards, registered on the REP’s registry for Exercise professionals and I keep constantly updating my knowledge by enrolling in workshops and courses to enhance my Yoga teaching.
Yoga unites the mind, body, and soul in a way that eases tension, reduces inflammation, and promotes health and well being. Regular practice will help you reach improve and perfect poses, correct posture and positioning, and improve your breathing and outlook on life.
Yoga is a great way to improve your endurance in other physical activities. After a run, or heavy workout, yoga will help your body relax while stretching, strengthening, and lengthening the muscles you were just working on.
Yoga not only helps improve your body, but also helps with mindfulness and meditation. It is important to take a break from daily life in order to focus on yourself and get clarity. Focusing on your breath during practice is key to staying in tune with your mind and body.
The foundational form of Yoga works on strength, flexibility, and relaxation through movement unifying mind and body.
It is for those wanting to learn the basics of yoga, including exercise, breathing techniques and a short gentle relaxation.
This technique will enable increased strength, flexibility and mobility as well as improving your posture. It will make you feel both energised and relaxed at the same time providing a fantastic exercise to your body.
It is suitable for all levels, and perfect if you are looking to incorporate exercise and a more healthy routine into your life.
Restorative Yoga is a powerful healing practice for everyone. It allows us to slow down, and inherently harmonizing the nervous system, which is our foundation. Join me at my Yoga classes in Poynton and my Yoga class in Prestbury as we allow the body to self-heal, self–regulate, and release layers of tension starting with gentle yoga poses, before moving into stillness with restorative poses, and leading to a blissful relaxation. We use props, to help the body to relax and renew.
A great way to improve workplace morale, increase productivity and bring everyone together to do something fun as a group. Yoga can be a welcome break to a busy work day or a relaxing way to de-stress during lunch time.
A yoga class in the workplace will leave you and your co-workers refreshed, re-energised and ready to focus on the every day work tasks.
Private sessions may suit you if there is a goal you are aiming for or if you are dealing with a health issue. Beginners also benefit enormously from private tuition.
If you have particularly tight muscles and/or stiff joints then group classes might not seem attractive or appropriate. Group classes don't tend to appeal to people who are a little self-conscious. A private class gives us plenty of time to figure out what's right for you.
Going on a retreat is a fantastic way of immersing yourself into Yoga in a relaxed environment whilst enjoying the perks that come with it such as sun, sea, swimming pool, nature walks and delicious healthy food. These involve other therapies that complement the transformational trip making you relax, meditate and energize yourself in order to go back to your normal routine with your batteries fully charged.

"I attended Susie's beginner Yoga class in Poynton on Tuesday evening. Having never done yoga before I was a little nervous about how I'd cope. I needn't have worried, Susie put the group at ease straight away and we all enjoyed a fabulous intro to basic yoga for the hour. I will be back weekly!"
"Would highly recommend this class...a great teacher who explains all moves perfectly..I've not been going long and already feel the benefit."
